Three people died in separate incidents in the county at the weekend.

In Kitale town, the body of a guard identified as Samuel Kirangi was found outside a store at Matisi estate after he was attacked by thugs who stole 400 bags of maize.

A resident, Nathan Wafula, told police that he was heading to Matisi to buy an item when he spotted Kirangi's body with fresh injuries on the head.

And a suspect was lynched after he was found with a stolen motorcycle at Tumaini in Endebess sub-county,

The suspect had hijacked a local boda boda rider but he was cornered minutes after the incident.

In Mabonde Kiminini sub-county, a 26-year-old man drowned as he was drawing water from a borehole.

Area chief Judith Kundu said the man slipped and drowned in the 17-foot borehole.

"The man was drawing water when he slipped and drowned before the body was retrieved by the police and taken to Kitale Referral Hospital mortuary," said Kundu.
