President Uhuru surprises Madaraka Express crew with his second ride

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday, December 13 surprised the Madaraka Express crew by when he took an unexpected ride on the 3 pm train.

Uhuru, accompanied by accompanied by former Ghanaian President John Mahama arrived at the Syokimau terminus and in a modest fleet catching most of the crew by surprise.

Uhuru was headed to the coast where he was set to open the first retreat for governors and their deputies at Diani Reef Hotel in Kwale County.

The two arrived at the coast at 8 pm.

This is the first time Uhuru is riding the Madaraka Express after his maiden ride on May 31 after he commissioned the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR), the most outstanding of the transformative projects he has initiated since coming into office.


Uhuru first rode with his Deputy William Ruto and First lady Margaret Kenyatta.

Mahama is officially the second high profile guest on the train.
