Man of the day: Governor Mandago beats all Kenyans in celebrating Uhuru's inauguration

Supporters of Jubilee and UhuRuto from all over the country welcomed November 28 with so much joy. This is because the day marks the beginning of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s second term.

All roads led to the Kasarani Sports Centre in Nairobi where the inauguration ceremony was taking place. The crowds gathered from as early as midnight to gain entry into the ceremony.

Several heads of state include Tanzanian Deputy President Samia Suluhu, South Sudan's Salva Kiir Mayardit, Former Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete and Ugandan President Kaguta Museveni graced the occasion.

Due to distance and costs, most supporters and well-wishers did not make it to Kasarani but stayed glued to their televisions to watch the colourful.

One leader however made a mark in taking his people closer to the event. The First and Current Governor of Uasin Gishu County Jackson Mandago organized for numerous buses from his county to Nairobi.

His vehicle led the convoy as they traveled overnight.

The convoy got to Nairobi at around 3 am before proceeding to the venue.

Before flagging on the convoy, Mandago urged President Kenyatta to sit down with opposition chief and NASA leader, Raila Odinga, for dialogue after his Tuesday swearing-in ceremony.
