Mike Okombe passed away on 4th November 2017.

The Kenyan rugby fraternity has suffered yet another loss following the death of Kenya Simba player Mike Okombe on Saturday night.

Mike Okombe, 27, together with his wife Maryanne Wamboi, 37, were attending their friend's party at Oliveinn.

Rongai police OCPD Joseph Kioko has confirmed that the wife took a knife and stabbed him on the left side of his chest, following a disagreement.

The former Simbas flanker was rushed to Mediheal Hospital but pronounced dead on arrival.

Police are looking for the wife who fled immediately after the crime.

Topfry Nakuru RFC and shujaapride.com, confirmed Okombe’s death.

“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing on of one of our own, Mike Okombe today. Kindly keep the family and the entire Nakuru rugby fraternity in your prayers during these trying times,” Topfry Nakuru RFC wrote .

His death has sparked an outpouring of support from Kenya Rugby fraternity, players, coaches and fans who have sent their messages of condolences to the family.
