Gatundu South Member of Parliament (MP) Moses Kuria has once again spoken about the National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga ahead of Thursday’s (October 26) repeat poll.

Mr Kuria asked the Opposition chief on Monday to ensure that there will be peace in the country despite Kenya’s soaring political temperature.

Kuria also warned the former Prime Minister against violence, saying that it would make much more strategic sense.

Raila has called for countrywide protests to force the meeting of electoral reforms NASA calls irreducible minimums. Among them being the firing of IEBC officials he accuses of bungling the August 8 election in favour of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Some of his rivals invariably equate his calls for protests to violence while he refers to them as peaceful insisting the violent ones are infiltrated outsiders to mar NASA’s reputation.

“If I were to advise Raila Odinga, I would tell him to re-look at the geo-political map of Kenya and think twice. Peace is a home game for him. Violence is an away game. Choose peace my brother. It makes much more strategic sense,” Kuria stated.

The controversial legislator also wrote a short ‘letter’ on Saturday (October 21) to Raila concerning a speech he made in Bondo during Mashujaa Day celebrations.

Kuria, who addressed Raila as a Statesman, asked the NASA leader if he knew the whereabouts of his sister, Ruth Odinga and Kisumu Senator Fred Outa saying that the police were out looking for them for the violence against Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) officials.

“Hallo Statesman Raila Odinga. Follow up to your comments in Bondo yesterday whereby you asked your supporters to refrain from violence, the police are looking for your sister Ruth Odinga and Kusumu Senator Fred Outa for violence meted upon IEBC officials. Might you by any chance know where they are? Do you feel like giving a helping hand for the police to arrest people who did exactly what you warned against?” Moses Kuria posted on his Facebook page.

Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Keriako Tobiko on Monday (October 23) ordered the immediate arrest of Senator Fred Outa and Ruth Odinga over attacks on IEBC officials in Kisumu.

Tobiko ordered the arrests after analysing a letter from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) (Kisumu office) that had directed that investigations be done to determine if the two should be prosecuted.

Senator Outa and Ms Ruth charged were, however, released on a Sh500,000 bail each by the Kericho Law Courts.
