Black Mamba overwhelmed Multi Media University (MMU) 44-10 in a Kenya Handball Federation national league match played at Kaloleni Handball Court yesterday.

With the win, the former champions extend their unbeaten run to eleven matches in the league with 22 points so far.

Innocent Onyango was the top scorer with eight goals while Byron Agunda and Paul Ondara managed six against their names.

Victor Ondieki, Vincent Kiprotich and Josphat Mwatate managed two goals each as top scorers for the University side.

Commenting after the match, Black Mamba coach Martin Abunde said the win was a good sign of things ahead.

"We expected to win this match with many goals to reduce the goal difference We have tough matches ahead and we want to make sure everything goes well," said Abunde.

In another fixture, Strathmore kept their unbeaten run intact following a 25-19 win over Nanyuki.

The Peter Mwathi side has had a good season following their maiden silverware in the national play-off after they defeated defending champions Kenya Defence Forces.

Despite winning the play-off, they failed to participate in the continental club championship that kicked off yesterday in Tunisia due to lack of funds.

In another match, Mount Kenya-Thika Campus forced a 34-34 tie against St Paul's University before going down 33-37 against MMU in their second match.

Kenyatta University defeated former champions Technical University of Kenya 33-27 in another league encounter.
