Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions Tusker have suspended head coach George Nsimbe.

The Ugandan has always been in trouble at Ruaraka since the team was edged out of the Gotv shield tournament by lower league side Vihiga United.

A source at the club confirmed Nsimbe was asked to step aside last week following a fall-out with senior players.

“He did not even attend the match against Muhoroni Youth after the office informed players of his suspension.  He is not expected to be back until the end of the season,” said our source.

In the absence of Nsimbe, assistant coach Francis Barasa takes over on a temporary basis until the end of the season and even helped his side pick a 4-0 win over Muhoroni Youthon Sunday.

Other reports have linked AFC Leopards Robert  Matano to the Tusker job with sources confirming a meeting the coach and the management at Ruaraka.

“The Tusker management have reached out to Matano and he may take over by the end of the season and take charge of the recruitment of new players.” [Gilbert Wandera]
