The fight is taking place too late for him to stay up and watch live, but Mourinho says he will watch it back when he wakes up on Sunday morning.

Mourinho said: “My dream was it started as a boxing fight and ended in a different way, both showing their qualities in a real fight, not just boxing.

“It’s too late for me, I have to sleep and then the next morning I will look at it.”

Mourinho says the fight that is playing on his mind more is the one Manchester United face to get through the group stages of the Champions League.

The Reds have been drawn to face Benfica, CSKA Moscow and Basel on their return to the premier European competition.
