The Opposition has alleged a plot to rig tomorrow's election as it made fresh demands to the electoral commission.

The officials made the claims even as they asked Kenyans to turn out in large numbers to cast their ballot.

The head of the National Super Alliance (NASA) Campaign Secretariat, Musalia Mudavadi, claimed that top Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) officials and Jubilee Party operatives have been meetings to find ways of manipulating the polls.

"We have credible information about covert meetings that top commission leaders has been having in a house in Kileleshwa with part of the secretariat staff and senior Jubilee operatives geared to sabotaging the successful conduct of the elections by the commission," said Mudavadi.

He went on: "We wish to remind them that any attempt to subvert the will of the people will be robustly resisted and they will be held accountable for all transgressions in the electoral process."

NASA further demanded that the commission ensure that ballot papers, the Kenyan Integrated Elections Management System (KIEMS), and all other election materials are delivered to all polling stations by today 5am.

Mudavadi said NASA has information that poll materials were still in Nairobi in yet another plot to disenfranchise NASA supporters.

"We have disturbing information that election materials designated for some NASA strongholds were until this morning still in the warehouse in Nairobi, pointing to a clear plan by officers in the commission secretariat to sabotage this election," he added during a press briefing at Nairobi's Okoa Kenya offices.

However, Central Nyanza IEBC official John Cox said the ballot papers and boxes have been received and that his officers were ready for the elections.

Power supply

Mudavadi also asked the commission to ensure that KIEMS are loaded with the register of voters.

NASA asked Kenya Power to ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity at the national and constituency tallying centres.

The alliance also demanded fresh deployment of security officers, saying the current one is skewed and does represent the face of Kenya.

"The current skewed deployment of security officers at Bomas of Kenya be immediately withdrawn and a fresh deployment of security officers at the national tallying centre be done in a manner that reflects the diversity and character of our nation," he said.

NASA further wants the commission to make public the 11,000 polling stations that have network problems.
