The distribution of ballot papers in Nairobi is expected to commence Monday and the IEBC and political parties are finalising preparations to ensure a smooth election.

Sunday, various political party agents from Nairobi congregated at Kasarani stadium for a meeting with IEBC officials to discuss what was expected of them come Election Day.

There was however a delay in kicking off the process after some party agents were barred from the venue for lack of appointment letters.

"We came here with the hope of meeting with IEBC communication to take us through our roles during the voting process. There was however no formal communication and we are relying on word of mouth from some friends," said Kennedy Mutunga, a Jubilee Party agent.

The agents were required to be in possession of appointment letters from the Independent candidates, Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission and political parties.

Party agents affiliated to NASA momentarily protested outside the meeting citing a deliberate plot by IEBC not to give NASA agents the appointment letters. The issue was however resolved.

Daniel Moyaka said the IEBC officials had arrived late leading to the delay.

"There was a delay in issuing of appointment letters to NASA agents but it has now been addressed. Things have started going well and we hope the meeting will take place as scheduled," said Moyaka.
