Two goals from Jacques Tuyisenge and George Odhiambo cemented Gor Mahia's place at the summit of the Kenya Premier League in a match that was staged at the Kisumu's Moi Stadium, Saturday.

Tuyisenge scored the first goal after getting a clean cross from Meddie Kagere with just 39 minutes into the game while Odhimabo connected a Kenneth Muguna corner edge kick to take things beyond reach for the hosts.

Gor Mahia were coming into the game with high hopes after they beat Nakumatt FC twice to pick six points in their last two league matches.

From the whistle, the hosts were on a mission as they kept raiding the Muhoroni backyard with Tuyisenge and Kagere finding loopholes that were brought by Faina Jacob and Ambrose Ayoyi.

The Gor Mahia side kept on surging forward with Godfrey Walusimbi and Kagere changing positions in an effort to confuse the Muhoroni Youth side.

Their efforts bore fruits in the 39th when Kagere set up Tuyisenge who looped the ball between the Legs of Sowed Salim to score the first goal for the first half to end 1-0.

A mix-up in connection had made Coach Dylan Kerr to make an early substitution as he withdrew Anthony Mbugua for Kenneth Muguna ahead of this goal, and the inclusion of the Former Western Stima player brought in new blood that resulted into fireworks that enabled Gor Mahia score that goal.

With just a few minutes into the second half gone, Kerr again recalled Timothy Otieno for Boniface Omondi as Gilbert Selebwa brought in new blood in Daniel Otieno for Maxwell Onyango.

The new injection again worked in favor of the hosts as George Odhiambo tapped in a rebound from his initial effort in the 86th minute to make things 2-0 for the hosts.

Jean Baptiste would then be brought in place of the scorer (Odhiambo) three minutes to the whistle as Gor Mahia cemented her superiority against the Visitors beating them the third time in a row in the three times that they have met at the same venue.

In Mumias Kakamega Hombeoyz narrowly defeated Kariobangi Sharls 2-1 in a match that was staged at the Mumias Complex.

Wycliffe Opondo scored the first goal in the 24th minute of the game to take the hosts into a lead before the visitors equalized in the 31st minute through Masoud Juma as Jeremiah Wanjala scored the winner in the 88th minute of the game.
