Raila Odinga reveals the final destination of the sgr - will kenyans be happy?

DEAD END? RAILA REVEALS WHERE THE SGR ENDS DURING NASA's MANIFESTO LAUNCH

The National Super Alliance yesterday launched their 7 pillar manifesto last night, with their flagbearer Raila Odinga centering his agenda on eradication of corruption.

With stakeholders, governors and members of Parliament in attendance, Raila Odinga wasn’t shy to criticise the Standard Gauge Railway, saying that it is the only thing the Jubilee government have to show after 5 years in office. He also said that the SGR was a project of the coalition government and that Jubilee only completed part of it – the route it took being a contentious issue.

In Raila’s words, “our competitors promised 10,000 kilometres of tarmac road. As someone who has been responsible for road construction in this country, I would say that is utopia, It could not happen, it has not happened.

SGR is the only project Jubilee government can show Kenyans. The SGR was conceived under the Grand Coalition government. It was supposed to link Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Kampala, Kigali and Bujumbura. It is now going to a dead end called Naivasha. “

The NASA flagbearer, with the other NASA principals, also promised to bring back KDF troops from Somalia, where they have been for a period of time.
