Independent Candidates Are Enemies Of Kenya.

Kenyan politicians never believe in a process they pretend to respect. Each election cycle, political parties are conjured up like kindergarten magic only to disappear for four years. Without established political parties, we will never develop national culture to be proud of.

True political parties belong to its membership and with developed strategies, philosophy, ideology and agenda. Such parties look beyond election cycles though they hope to be in power one day. Election losses only dampen them but never destroy.

With time, all civilised and developed democracies from its cradle in ancient Athens, started having substantial portions of its population uniting around common positions. And they evolved into political parties. And with time, two competing positions emerged: the Conservatives that believed in individual enterprise & good with God at the centre, and the Liberals who believe in shared good with absentee God.

US has Republican & Democratic Parties; UK has Labour & Conservative Parties; Germany has Christian Democratic Union (CDU) & Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) and Australia has Liberal Party of Australia and Australian Labour Party. These Parties live beyond its current members and leaders and people rarely defect.

It is time Kenya adopts Jubilee and NASA. We should frown at defectors and the so called Independents. Without being loyal to parties and ideology, we can't be loyal to anything. You can't join a party and be given life membership then switch. How many lives does one have?

For Kenya to develop in terms of party establishment, we need to have two competing visions. And we will be testing each alternatively till we find one that works. Or we find a middle ground. Wanyonyi Chebukati, Lucy Ndung'u, Justice Chacha Mwita and Justice D.V. Odunga have onerous and sacred duty to shepherd Kenya to a two party democracy, and lead the way for Africa.
