Athletics: Preparations advance ahead of trials

Plans for the IAAF London World Championships national trials have hit top gear with the arrival of the foreign legion ahead of the two-day event that starts at Nyayo Stadium on Friday.

US-based Emmanuel Korir, Emmanuel Rotich, Raymond Kibet anf Michael Saruni are here in search of the coveted tickets to London. Also keen on landing a slot on Team Kenya are World Championships 10,000m bronze medallist Paul Tanui, Leonard Barsoton and Leonard Kwemoi. Kibet, a member of Team Kenya in last year's Olympics, is also in the mix.

He holds a personal best of 45.39 in 400m and won gold at the 2015 African Games in Congo Brazzaville. [Dennis Okeyo]
