Jubilee Party governorship candidate Anne Waiguru has told Mt Kenya residents not to assume they have the numbers but ensure overwhelming turnout in the August 8 polls.

Ms Waiguru said since it appeared there could be voter apathy, residents from the region must not take things for granted but wake up and vote for President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The candidate said even if voters in Kirinyaga vote for her and fail to cast their ballots in favor of Uhuru, then the Head of State would have it rough since he will not have foot soldiers.

Addressing faithful at Ndiriti Anglican Church in Ndia Constituency on Sunday, Waiguru urged voters to elect her and see how far she would take them.

"The past political leadership in this county has been taking us in circles on matters development and this, I assure, will change on August 8," she said.

Accompanied by her running mate Peter Ndambiri and the area Parliamentary Jubilee candidate George Kariuki, Waiguru said her transformational style of leadership would usher in a new dawn for the county.

She promised to boost health, water, education and infrastructure sectors.
