Nyeri man slashes hsi wife and son over Ugali

The high commodity prices in the country have joined hunger and food shortage in causing havoc as a mother and her son fight for their lives at Consolata Mathari Hospital where they are under treatment from an attack by their father.

The man is reported to have allegedly attacked his wife Mercy Njeri alongside their son for what he termed a overspending his hard earned income on Unga.

The attack is said to have emerged from a heated debate between them on the prices of maize flour as the 24-year-old father slashed his wife and their two year-old son.

The man is said to have accused his wife of spending a lot of money on Unga before inflicting harm on them in the incident that occurred at around 5am in Ruring’u.

Witnesses claim that the man attacked Mercy Njeri, for spending nearly all the money he brought home to get the family a daily maize meal that had never been enough.

After the dreadful act, the accused surrendered himself to authorities at the Nyeri Central Police Station.

Police contacted by the media over the matter said the matter was under investigation the matter.
