County authorities will not be required to get rid of neglected domestic animals after the county assembly yesterday passed a motion by nominated MCA Flora Bartera.

The MCA said even though there exists a law that requires the government to get rid of such animals, there had been laxity in implementing it.

"We are concerned that an increasing number of goats, pigs, dogs and donkeys are roaming Eldoret Town and other urban centres.

Sadly, the ministry of livestock and county law enforcers have blinded themselves to this," she said.
