Pay defunct county land board members

County lands management boards (CLMBs) were created by the National Land Commission Act, 2012, to operate at the county level.

As at early last year, NLC had operationalised these boards in most of the counties. However, last year, Parliament in its wisdom or lack of it repealed the section that created the boards. This meant that the boards had no mandate to transact any more business.

As a result, NLC secretary wrote to all board members terminating their contract and promised to clear all pending payments. To date, no payment has been forthcoming.
