Fitness challenge attracts hundreds

FITNESS CHALLENGE KENYA Participants during the monthly Fitness Kenya Challenge at the Shani Active Gym and Studios on Saturday January 13, 2017.

The Fitness Challenge Kenya has hailed the overwhelming interest of Nairobians to stay fit after the first session of a series of work outs at Shani Active Gym yesterday.

Backed up by renown choreographer Ian Wainaina, hundreds of participants were taken through warm up sessions, dubbed kudunda before instructor John Andalo took them through high intensity spin session.

“Calories were burned and energy levels increased from the instructors motivation as smiles turned to groans on the spin bikes,” said lead instructor Hillary Wahanda.

“The spin session lasted 30 minutes after which John Mopero took over with a challenging Tabata session. Some gave up but came to join again.

“In this day and age and unhealthy lifestyle, it is really important to exercise, burn the calories and exercise your cardio muscles,” Wahanda said.

According to the organisers, the least person had 2400 calories burnt. The next challenge will be on the February 4.
