Let me start with a disclaimer: I am not making up the long string of titles of the Gambia president. He is called His Excellency, Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya AJJ Jammeh Babili Mansa. His long list of titles belies his unadulterated love for power.
The last title, the icing on the cake, Babili Mansa, means, literally in Madinka, the king of the bridge. How can a man whose unadulterated love for power graciously concede defeat to the little-known former estate agent, Adama Barrow in the presidential election on 1 December 2016?
