Machakos County Governor Alfred Mutua has given Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka up to Tuesday next week to apologise or face a legal suit for linking him to the alleged kidnapping of his deputy Governor’s daughter.

Dr Mutua, who survived an impeachment plot this week, said his political adversaries were afraid of his style of politics that centres on development.

“Church elders have told me to forgive my detractors and that’s why I am offering Kalonzo this opportunity to apologise,” said Mutua. Last week Kalonzo claimed Mutua was responsible for the missing Machakos Deputy Governor Benard Kiala’s daughter, Kathleen Nduku.
Nduku was later found at a house believed to be her boyfriend’s in Kasarani, Mwiki.

Mutua who spoke in Machakos and Tala towns a day after an impeachment motion against him failed because of quorum hitch, thanked those who stood by him. He hit out at top Wiper party leaders accusing them of being behind the bid.

“They started fighting me the moment I was elected and they have not relented. I will not be intimidated by their schemes,” he said.

Over 30 MCAs accompanied Mutua during the rally and where he also launched a borehole to serve the populous Kariobangi Estate in Machakos. He said the water will be provided to the residents for free.

The MCA’s led by the assembly majority leader Joshua Mwonga said they will rally behind Mutua adding that he was a transformative leader.

Mwonga said leaders behind the impeachment were dishonest and should be rejected by the electorate.

Mutua said he will not be intimidated by the Wiper leadership. He said his Maendeleo Chap Chap Party was committed to uplifting of the lives of the common mwananchi.
