Media locked out of Karume's children case

The media will not cover a civil case pitting some of former minister Njenga Karume's children against trustees.

Lawyers for the trustees were unhappy with the presence of the media despite an earlier order that barred them in another matter involving the family.

This came just before the chairman of the trustees George Ngugi Waireri gave his testimony before Justice Roslyn Aburili.

Justice Aburili noted the High Court had received directions from the Chief Justice's office on how the media should operate in court and ruled that the issue before her is private and ought to be kept away from the public eye.

"The family has decided to keep the matter private, thus you can move out so we can proceed," she said.
