Residents wishing to bury their dead in the public cemetery will have to pay more if proposed amendments in the Finance Bill are passed. Trading licences for small and large-scale traders have also been increased in the proposed bill as well as rent for houses owned by the county government.

To bury the body of an adult, it will now cost Sh540 up from the current Sh450, a child Sh240 up from the current Sh200. In the bill, exhuming a body will cost Sh2,400 for an adult and Sh1,800 for a child.
