Suspended Lands CS Charity Ngilu Friday opposed to be charged alongside seven ministry officials in the case relating to controversial Karen land that is under investigation.
Consequently, the eight did not take plea to allow the magistrate to rule whether she will be charged separately and whether the case will be deferred until the case involving the controversial 134 acre land in the High Court is determined.
Ngilu protested being charged alongside the rest saying she was facing obstruction of justice charges while the others were facing corruption charges.
The application to defer taking plea was made by telesource owner Josephat Konzolo who argued that they will canvas on a similar issue before the high court.
Ngilu and the others were released on a Sh1 million cash bail. Ruling on the case will be made on June 26.
Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Ngilu’s supporters were in court in solidarity with the suspended Cabinet Secretary.
