Protest over accident caused by officer

Scores of boda boda operators confronted a traffic police officer who allegedly hit their colleague with a stick causing him to lose control.

The man landed in a ditch along the busy Kangema-Murang’a road in St Mary.

He was rushed for treatment to Murang’a District Hospital by fellow operators who called for investigations into the continued harassment of motorcyclists by traffic police officers.

The injured motorcyclist was on his way to a slaughter house in Kangema to collect fresh deliveries.

Murang’a town MCA Charles Machigo condemned the officer’s action, saying there are ways of arresting errant operators instead of throwing an object at them.
