Form three student allegedly stabbed to death over Sh50 debt

A form three student succumbed to serious injuries at the Rift Valley Provincial hospital after he was allegedly stabbed following argument over Sh50 in Flamingo estate, Nakuru town.

Kevin Mwangi 16, a student at Khalsa Secondary School in Nakuru picked a quarrel with his neighbor identified as Joseph who allegedly stabbed him with a knife on the thigh.

Flamingo village elder Pastor Marel said the deceased had the suspect's Sh50 debt that he claimed he had overstayed with it and that he did not show any sign of paying back the amount.

He said neighbours rushed to rescue him after they heard the victim scream and found him in a pool of blood as the attacker fled.

"The two are said to have had a quarrel over Sh50 that led to the deceased being attacked after school," said Marel.

Marel said the deceased sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital by well-wishers but he unfortunately died while undergoing treatment.

According to him, the suspect who is still at large was under alcohol influence that led him to commit the indecent act.

The elder said local administration are collaborating with police officers to stop the sale of alcohol and drugs in the area.

Nakuru OCPD Bernard Kioko said police officers have commenced investigations to arrest the suspect and charge him with murder.
