Three form four students from a private school in Malindi district were yesterday arrested for allegedly cheating in the ongoing Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examinations.

The candidates who are from Msabaha Victory secondary school were arrested alongside their teacher.

The teacher is said to have collude with the students to engage in examination  mulpractises.

Malindi District Criminal investigation officer Mr John Ndungu confirmed the arrest.

Mr Ndungu said they had received reports that the four were in possession of  an examination paper which they were about to sit for.

He said his officers recovered the exam leak from the student after conducting search.

The four were arrested at the school and later locked at the Malindi police station for interrogation.

Later in the evening they were arraigned before the Malindi Senior Resident Magistrate Liza Gicheha.

However they could not take plea after the police officers applied for an extension of time to complete the investigations.

The magistrate ordered they be held at the local police station until next week when police are expected to have completed investigations.

It was not immediately clear where the student and their teacher secured the CRE examimation paper.
