Alleged fake state house official charged

Nakuru, Kenya; A man who allegedly impersonated a State House official during the ongoing national music festivals in Nakuru has been charged before a court.

Stephen Wainaina appeared before Nakuru Principal Magistrate Felix Kombo where he denied the charge of impersonation. According to the prosecution, Wainaina presented himself to Ruth Agesa at the Lions School on August 10 as a State House official from Nairobi.

The magistrate released Wainaina on a Sh250,000 bond with a surety or a Sh30,000 cash bail pending the hearing of the case. The case will be heard on October 14. Meanwhile, police have arrested two people in Njoro linked to theft of laptops and valuables from students in Egerton and Kabarak universities.

Peter Kimani and Purity Wanjiru however denied the robbery charge before Principle Magistrate Kombo. The two were charged with stealing a laptop from a student at Soilo along the Nakuru-Eldoret highway. Prosecutor Stephen Wambua asked the court to remand the two at the Njoro police station.
