Burst banks

The governor said he would seek an investor to do irrigation in the flood prone area of Sifuyo in Ugenya District.

The families were displaced last weekend and crops in more than 90 acres of land swept away.

Ugenya DC Caroline Onchonka met the local disaster management committee who appealed to the Government to support the disaplced.

Onchonka said those affected would be well taken care by the Government through the Special Programmes ministry.

More than 500 people were displaced in the area as a result of heavy rains. Farmlands as well as roads have been destroyed in the county, ending up in a tranport crisis.
