Unseen footage of Beyonce as a 10-year-old girl band member is being sold for a whopping Sh380 million

Never seen before footage of a young Beyonce has gone on sale and is expected to fetch over Sh380 million.

There are twelve Betacam tapes up for grabs, all documenting a ten-year-old Beyonce in six-piece group Girls Tyme, something which would eventually evolve into Destiny’s Child.

The tapes of the popstar in the making are being sold by auctioneers Ted Owen & Co in London, with bids starting at Sh194 million. The batch of material went up for auction on 29th November and ends on 10 January 2017.

There’s roughly two and a half hours of professional footage dating from 1992, showing Beyonce on her rise to fame - and they are the earliest known professional recordings of the group.

Ted Owen have posted a snippet of the footage, which includes Beyonce talking to camera, doing dance routines, rehearsing for a performance and singing at a showcase in San Francisco.

There’s also unedited footage of the singer at the Record Plant recording studio in California, working on dance routines for her first professional music video. And bits where she tries on glasses in a mall.

“This is a unique opportunity to acquire rare and original archival footage and witness the beginning of what we know to be Beyonce’s incredible journey to superstardom,” explains the lot's description.
