IEBC clears Abduba to vie for presidency

 Alliance for Real Change presidential aspirant Mohammed Abduba Dida presented his papers to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and was cleared to vie for presidency.

He was accompanied by his running mate Joshua Odongo.

Speaking after being awarded the certificate, Abduba said his party will conduct peaceful campaigns and abide by rules set by IEBC.

He also said his party, if elected will ensure equity and respect among Kenyans.

“We looking forward to a Kenya where elders will be role models for youngsters and youngsters will respect the elders,” he said.

He said they have not yet hit the campaign trail as IEBC had not yet announced the official campaign period.

His running mate, 29 year old Odongo said they will hit the campaign trail immediately to popularize their party.

He expressed confidence that their party had a chance as it is headed by young people who have the interest of youth at heart.

“We are confident of winning the first round as most of our supporters are youth.  Also our party focuses on practical policies and issues to be tackled first,” he said.
