Assembly passes Sh11b budget

The county assembly on Wednesday evening passed the Budget with the Health department taking the lion's share.

The sector was allocated Sh3.8 billion, translating to 34 per cent of the total budget presented in the assembly by Budget Committee Chairman Moses Ndung'u.

Others include Sh55 million for people living with disabilities, Sh50 million for urban development and Sh90 million for water infrastructure projects.

Funds have also been set aside for the hiring of Early Childhood Development instructors. The county expects to raise Sh2.3 billion from local sources and Sh8 billion from the Commission of Revenue Allocation equitable share. The roads and public works docket got Sh1.1 billion.
