Governor demands transfer of commissioner

Governor Ali Roba has now demanded the immediate transfer of county commissioner Alex ole Nkoyo over increased cases of insecurity.

This comes barely a day after clan elders from five communities opposed calls by local leaders to have Ole Nkoyo transferred.

In a statement issued from Europe, where he is touring, Mr Roba said the transfer of the security chief was in the best interest of the residents.

"Our agitation to have the county commissioner moved is informed by the continuous failure to tackle insecurity in the county, particularly as it relates to terror attacks," Roba said.

The governor said despite support from the national government to fight terror attacks in the county, the general feeling was that the county commissioner had failed to effectively execute his mandate.
