Makueni County Government employees move to court over salary arrears

Makueni County Government employees have accused the administration of taking advantage of the current political crisis to delay their salaries amounting to more than Sh9 million.

The aggrieved staff went to the Industrial Court seeking orders to have the county government compelled to pay them their salary arrears, which date back to November, last year.

Thomas Mutinda, Abraham Anyenga and Stephen Musyoki, filed the petition on behalf of the workers.

Through lawyer Moses Chelenga they told Industrial Court Judge Nduma Nderi, that only the Executive County members get their salaries.

Justice Nderi certified the matter as urgent and fixed hearing on January 22.
