While speaking at Thika fire station during the graduation of 40 fire fighters who were trained on usage of modern equipment Governor William Kabogo said the move will go along way in curbing the fire incidences.

“My government in partnership with Polish Government have trained fire fighters using the latest techniques in combating fire whenever such incidents occur,” said Kabogo. “Fighters were also trained on high rope rescue training which was conducted by the Polish Centre for International Aid who partnered with the county through The Poland Ministry of Foreign Affairs.”

Legal measures

I’m proud of the 40 graduands as we are now very prepared in case of a disaster and my government will continue partnering with The Polish Government to empower the disaster and rescue team with more skills to deal with disasters,” said Kabogo.

Kabogo also emphasised that legal measures will also be put in place to ensure all buildings in the county have the required fire fighting equipment to reduce calamities.

County Secretary for Road, Transport and Utilities Njeri Mburu said she will make all the Sub County fire stations 24-hour operational stations.
