Police in Likuyani arrested a man suspected to have strangled his one-month-old baby before dousing him in paraffin and setting him ablaze on Monday night.
"I was awoken at around midnight by a commotion only to find my husband strangling our baby. I tried to rescue the child but his father overpowered me. I ran out of the house to alert neighbours," said Mary Nasimiyu, the child's mother.
