Guard killed in school theft

Muranga, Kenya; A gang struck a secondary school in Gatanga Sub-County in Murang’a and stole 20 computers, before hacking a watchman to death. The gang raided Gakurari Secondary School where they stole computers, five bags of sugar and Sh29, 000.

The night guard, identified as Stephen Thiong’o was slashed to death in the incident.

Murang’a County Police Commander Naomi Ichami said detectives were gathering information on the cartel.

“Police officers are investigating the operations of the gang that has killed a number of watchmen,” said Ichami. Last week, text books of unknown value were stolen after a gang broke into Karega Secondary School.
