Kenyans react on Twitter as FKF boss is questioned

News that Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Sam Nyawmeya presented himself to CID yesterday morning for grilling over the delayed departure of Harambee Stars to Cape Verde for a World Cup qualifier last night, did not go down well with Kenyans on Twitter.

The phrase ‘FKF President Sam Nyamweya’ was among the top trends with Kenyans expressing outrage at the players being stranded at Wilson Airport on Monday.

It is said that the plane was grounded because the players were on a go-slow over unpaid allowances. Other sources claim that the chartered plane that was to carry the national team had not been paid for.

Mufasa ‏@mucherujesse tweeted: FKF President Sam Nyamweya. This man should be fired and hopefully jailed without Fifa interference.. throwing our football game to the dogs.

@itsKrazZyKenyan tweeted: FKF President Sam Nyamweya and Waiguru have sooo much in common.

Collins Okinyo ‏@bedjosessien tweeted: my sources at Kenya’s Sports ministry allege FKF President Sam Nyamweya was given $170,000 Friday and an additional $70,000 yesterday Monday.

Uncle Ray ‏@_UncleRay tweeted: When you Google FKF President Sam Nyamweya .. ALL you see is embezzlement, graft, fraud and corruption. He has not nurtured Kenyan talent at all.

Jackson Arunga ‏@JacksonArunga tweeted: FKF President Sam Nyamweya should be locked up and be released only after Harambee Stars has won the Cup of Nations, World Cup and Uefa.
