Butterfly FC qualify for Football Kenya Federation Super League

Ruiru-based Butterfly FC collected 67 points to top the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Central Regional League and qualify for the FKF National Super League.

V-Porto, formerly Limuru's Bata Bullets, finished second with 64 points followed by PCEA Kikuyu on 59 points. Butterfly FC sponsors Spinners & Spinners has promised to continue supporting the club.

"Spinners & Spinners is proud that the players have made the organisation proud by topping the FKF Central Regional League. We are going to give them the full support needed to win in the Nationwide League," Gerald Kihiu, Spinners &Spinners Human Resource Manager told FeverPitch during the final leg of the 2015 Spinners & Spinners Football League trials, at Githunguri Primary School on Sunday.

During the company's tournament, which is used to pick players for trials, Fancy Weaving edged Worsted Spinning 2-1 on post-match penalties to lift the title. Evans Nakitare and Alvin Imuga scored for the champions, while Timothy Wafula notched the solitary goal for the runners up.

Woolen FC who thrashed Administration FC 7-1, finished third. During the tournament, the company selected 11 who will attend Butterfly FC trials at Spinners High School.
