Woman's torso found dumped near kiosk in Kayole, Nairobi

A torso of a woman whose other body parts were found dumped in Umoja area in Nairobi has been discovered.

The torso was discovered near a shop in Kayole stuffed in a sack days after the other body parts had been found.
Police say they are yet to make an arrest.

Detectives investigating the incident say they are also yet to identify the woman.

The body parts, which included legs, hands and head were found stuffed in a black paper and dumped near a primary school in Umoja on Monday.

The body had had been neatly chopped and kept in a fridge for a while before being dumped in the area.
The torso too looked neat and the other parts chopped off neatly.

Buruburu DCI Jeremiah Ikiao said his officers were called to the scene by locals who had complained of bad smell and they suspect the woman was killed somewhere and the body dumped in the area.

On Wednesday, police were again called and informed of the discovery of the torso.
"Efforts to identify her and get those behind the murder are ongoing. We suspect the woman was killed elsewhere and the body parts dumped where they were found separately," said Ikiao.

The team took fingerprints of the woman's hands. The well chopped off body parts seemed to have been stored in a refrigerator before being dumped there.

Crowds milled around both scenes as scenes of crime detectives took charge.
The remains were moved to the mortuary as investigations into the incident go on.
