Locally, not so many celebrities are known to make extraordinary diva demands. Over here, no one asks to be served with Cristal champagne and an attendant whose only role is to dispose her used chewing gum, or even a bottle of vitamin water to bath her dogs.

Mariah Carey

The singer has been labelled “diva” since time immemorial. She once requested for 20 white kittens and 100 white doves to surround her at an event. The management, however, did not approve of this. Other demands from her included bottles of vitamin water to bathe her dogs and an assistant to walk backwards in front of her at all times in case she fell over. Talk about being a diva!

Kanye West

The rapper has been known to have outlandish requests. He allegedly requires that his chauffeurs should only wear 100 per cent cotton clothes. As if that is not crazy enough, according to TMZ, Yeezy demands cylindrical vases and that his towels must be black imported Versace, which approximately cost Sh40,000.

Madonna

The icon allegedly requested a 200-person entourage and 20 international phone lines on one of her tours. When she went out on tours she demanded a brand new toilet seat in every venue that she played at. This also included her own home furniture being shipped to every dressing room on every stop of her tour.

Justin Bieber

The singer is said to have outrageous demands while on tour. According to TMZ, some of them included a rule not to play ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez’s music on set and a note not to speak to the talent. This follows their on-again off-again relationship with the star.

Apparently he still hasn’t moved on from their bitter breakup. But that is not the most ridiculous of them all, allegedly not just anybody can speak directly to him. Diva much!?

Katy Perry

According to The Smoking Gun, the star’s backstage dream suite includes “two cream-coloured egg chairs, one of which should have a footstool,” as well as a refrigerator with a glass door.

 Some reports state that chauffeurs are not allowed to start a conversation with Perry and are not to stare at the backseat through the rear-view mirror. Her dressing room has to be draped in cream or soft pink. Coffee table must be in Perspex modern style.
