Here is why Governor Kidero is not worried about the two months holiday like other parents

Nairobi governor Dr. Evans Kidero is not worried about the two months long holiday for school going children like most parents in the country.

Kidero, while on a local radio station said the city will be having over a million children on holiday.

"We have 600,000 in primary,50,000 in secondary and approximately 200,000 will be visiting children but there adequate activities for fun and talent development in the city," said Kidero.

Even as many parents are worried about the influence the holiday will have on their children's behavior, the governor said games and sporting activities would be an easy way to keep the youngsters away from alcohol and drug abuse.

"We will kick off the inter-ward football league that will have over 10,000 active participants and this will be alongside other games and kids can take part," he added.

Having confirmed being alumni of St Mary's Mosocho boarding primary and Agoro Sare high school, the governor said kids would veer into immoral activities when idle.

He said most parents pamper their children excessively and fail to direct and correct them when necessary and this has left many complaining about misconduct of their children yet they had done little about it.

He said the City is now better than it used to be and responsible parents should not worry any much.
