You have probably heard some one say, “This chap has no foresight.” This could mean the fellow cannot plan well ahead or visualise the next couple of hours or days. Life can be very challenging for such people. Developing a higher IQ can help such people.

Indeed a higher IQ has numerous benefits. Let’s quickly see some of them before I give you some more tips on how to increase your intelligence or that of your child.

Solve problems quicker.

The brain is able to juggle more factors at the same time than it could before. If you are trying to solve a problem, it is extremely useful to be able to remember all the factors you know at once.

More insightful synthetic imagination.

There are two kinds of imagination: synthetic imagination and creative imagination.

Synthetic is the one we use the most. It is when our brains combine existing knowledge and derives new insights from it, or identifies new patterns.

Creative imagination is different and involves flashes of insight that are not necessarily related to what we already know.

With the right brain training, a higher IQ is evidenced by boosting your synthetic imagination significantly.

You find you are able to solve every day challenges faster and efficiently and your academic or career performance rises.

Breathing Right

Let us start with a simple exercise and that is taking deep breaths. Take some time every so often to sit up and take very deep and conscious breaths. Low oxygen levels in the blood have been shown to decrease brain function. By breathing deeply through the nose you can improve the functioning of your brain immediately.

Deep breaths put more oxygen in the blood and, therefore, in the brain.

We need to do as many things as possible to get the best circulation of blood to the brain that.

Oxygenating the brain well is required to promote brain use and brain healing. Proper brain function requires a critical balance of correct breathing for oxygenation. To really understand the importance of good breathing, consider this: the brain weighs roughly two per cent of the body weight, but consumes 20 per cent of all the oxygen we breath in.

Secondly, brain cells are extremely sensitive to decreases in oxygen levels and do not survive or function well very long without it.


Intermittent-fasting

Studies have proven that the act of Intermittent Fasting helps improve cognitive functioning. It works by increasing the amount of Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF).

If you properly learn how to intermittently fast, you will be increasing your BDNF, which is linked to improvements in both memorisation and learning.

Ironically, the process of intermittent-fasting is also linked to growth of new brain cells.

This process involves eating for a specific window of time, followed by a period of “fasting” or not eating.

This could be that you do not eat for 16 hours in a day but then eat normally in the 8 hour window. This may be conducted on an alternative-day (i.e. every other day) basis.

Not only can intermittent fasting boost your intelligence, it has been found to be physically healthy.
