Nkaissery to be remembered for his uncompromising stand on security

The Council of Governors (COG) describes the fallen hero Joseph Nkaissery as selfless, dedicated leader who did not compromise on security matters.

The COG chairman has joined other leaders in mourning the death of Gen Joseph Nkaissery, Cabinet Secretary Interior and National Co-ordination, who passed on shortly after being admitted at the Karen Hospital today.

In a press statement to newsrooms, COG chairman Josphat Nanok said Gen. Nkaissery was a decorated career officer, whose service to the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and the country was of utmost standard, rising to the rank of Major-General in the Kenya Army.

The late Gen. Nkaissery also served as the Kajiado Central Member of Parliament from 2002 -2014 and Assistant Minister for Defence from 2008-2013. In December 2014, he was appointed as the CS Interior and Coordination, a position he has held to his demise this morning.

Nanok said the late Gen. Nkaissery will be remembered for his uncompromising stand on matters of security, having inherited the docket at the height of Al Shabaab Militia attacks in the Country. Nkaissery quickly stamped his authority on the docket and restored the faith of Kenyans in the ability of the State to protect them against such attacks.
