Match Preview: Kenya vs Uganda Cranes

Harambee Stars, who last won 2-0 over neighbors Uganda during CECAFA Senior Challenge in Ethiopia back in 2015, was Stars first win in eight years.

Uganda Cranes have an impressive record, after winning thrice, drawing four times and losing only once in the last eight outings between these two sides.

Harambee Stars, who are currently enjoying an eight-match unbeaten streak, under head coach Stanley Okumbi, will be seeking to cause an upset when they face the best-ranked country in East Africa.

Local boys will be capitalizing on visitors’ poor form after an early exit in the concluded Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon. They drew to Mali in their last group match before losing to Ghana and Ivory Coast.

Kenya will be banking on skipper Victor Wanyama, who has been having an awe-inspiring form at Tottenham Hotspur this season.

Ugandans under coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic are pegging their hopes on SC Villa talisman, Emmanuel Okwi and Godfrey Walusimbi who plays for Gor Mahia.

The match will kick off at 3 p.m. at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos, on Thursday, 23rd March 2017. Tickets will be going for Sh100 for terraces and sh300 for VIP. Gates were opened at 12 noon.
