Rachel Shebesh covered to mask ‘nudity’ in church

County_Nairobi

Nairobi County Woman Representative Rachel Shebesh and nominated Senator Beatrice Elachi, had to be covered before entering a city church in their favourite garbs on grounds that their dressing bordered on nudity.

The two were among city politicians who accompanied gubernatorial aspirant Peter Kenneth to Jesus Winner Ministry in Roysambu on January 15.

Shebesh and Elachi were however perceived unfit to walk into the church in trousers, short and tight dresses. Shebesh was in a tight, short dress, but which is forbidden in the church headed by Bishop Edward Mwai.

Ziwani MCA Millicent Mugandi and some female journalists too were not lucky either. A female journalist who was in trousers said she was surprised how they were covered promptly without their knowledge.

In a swift move, ushers stopped the female politicians and covered them with long lesos.

A journalist who was also covered said they looked like guild women.

Nairobi Woman Representative Aspirant Millicent Omanga who was in a long dress escaped the embarrassing moment. They apparently shunned dancing with fellow male leaders and watched from their respective seats.

Faithful said the church has strict restrictions on dress code. “We don’t allow attires that may mislead some church members. We have strict rules,” one of them explained.
