Three men facing robbery with violence charges have been freed by a Maua court. The three – Yani Lekoyan, Supukon Lekuyan and Lesewan Lekoyan – were acquitted by Senior Magistrate Samwel Soita.

The charge stated that on November 17, 2014, they jointly robbed Abdiaziz Ibrahim, a Kenya Police Reservist of his rifle before killing him.

They were also accused of robbing reservists Adirizack Abdullahai, Edin Adan and Abakila Dima of their rifles before killing them.

They also faced a charge of stealing 320 head of cattle from Mohammed Abdi Hassan.

The prosecution decided to terminate the case because the witnesses were pastoralists and had failed to attend court for the last one year.
