Lower league side KCB have made it to the next round of the GOtv Shield tournament after seeing off Western Stima 4-3 on post-match penalties at Moi Stadium yesterday.

The match ended in a barren draw in full time and had to be decided on post-match penalties.

Western Stima were always favourites onsidering that they had shocked AFC Leopards 3-0 in the second round.

Despite their determination they were always on the receiving end of the bankers who showed early intention to win this one.

Benjamin Chaka and Kennedy Owino who have stuck with KCB even after the team was relegated at the beginning of this season made several inroads into the Stima goalmouth.

On the other side of the pitch, Brian Marita and Wesley Kemboi were tormenting the KCB backline. Kemboi's first attempt was from a header that went just wide while Juma Mpongo in the KCB goal did well to keep out Marita's goal bound cross moments later.

Kemboi was not done yet. Before the break, he was denied by Mpongo and then he lobbed another effort beyond the KCB goal. Kennedy Owino then had a chance to put the bankers ahead in the 72nd minute but was wasteful even after beating Gabriel Andika in goal.

The power men should have had the last laugh with less than ten minutes to go but Kennedy Muguna and Kennedy Otieno proved wasteful.

In the post-match penalties, KCB scored through Dennis Ng'ang'a, Frank Balabala, Juma Mpongo and Erick Okoth. Job Omuse and John Odhiambo missed.

For Stima Kennedy Agogo, Wesley Onguso and Bernard Ondiek scored while Fredrick Shimonyo. Estone Esiye and Gabriel Andika missed.

Posta Rangers also made it to the next round after edging out Ushuru 5-4 on post-match penalties after the match ended in a goalless draw.

Timothy Otieno, Titus Achesa,Charles Odette, Duncan Otieno and Patrick Matasi scored for Posta Rangers while Nelson Marasowe, Maurice Odipo, Evans Kiwanuka and Roy Okal replied for Ushuru.
