Does true love still exist?

To Love and be loved is just awesome, love drives people into doing the most unthinkable staffs in the world. I remember while in high school, one of my Kiswahili teachers gave us a demonstration of what real love was, with the long story behind it, he ended by saying this, “even the mightier once, bow under the heavy weight of love." 

I never fully agreed with him at the time, but experience after my high school made me share in his lines of thought, love is a virus that does not discriminate. To date I still don't understand this, why love a person if you can't be with them?  Why see a person and when you are just about to make the positive advancement, you realize that it was never meant to be and you just have to let go?   Words of the famous love poem let go.

I totally understand that, sometimes matters of the heart especially love can never be argued on the altar of our minds, I mean it’s never about what our mind thinks nor wishes to have, but it’s what our heart loves. Have you ever been in that awkward situation where by you love someone but they do not love you back or someone is madly in love with you but you can't counter back the same feeling?.

 It’s just crazy, you love someone but you can't think of ever standing before them to whisper your thoughts, you end up banking on your feelings within yet deep inside you know how much it hurts, how you crave for their hug, tell them how you feel, talk to them of building a happy family with them.

Worst is when you love a person who knows how you feel about them and instead they end up using that fault in you to make your life a living hell, your feelings are deliberately ignored, only needed when they are in need of your little resource but you are never in picture never existed in their minds. You only come in when a need arise an emergency pops up.

True love is about caring, if you don’t love a person just say it, mind you, you haven't reached that level of becoming a reliable sponsor, note this as early as possible and flee but if you still insist then  brace for heart breaks. It’s unfortunate that we now live in a generation where only a drop in the ocean still believe true love exist, that you can just love a person for what they are and not what they have to offer, that if I have to be around you is because I love you.

It excites me just to be around you and not what you give, what you ever promise, but I just love you and being with you gives me the true essence of life. Unfortunately we live in a cohort that believes true love fossilized long ago it no longer exist, for example here in Kenya you would be told, "hatuwezi  kula mapenzi kila mwezi, love aiwezi lipa rent so tusidanganyane brother".

I don't wish to compromise this but let me put it into this perspective, love will never pay our rent and may be pay our school fee or even buy us meals. But have we ever thought of what we can achieve with true love glowing in us, when we truly love each other we can work hard to offer nothing but the best for those whom we truly love and care for, look at it this way, If one is willing to die in the name of love, what is rent, daily meals In the eyes of love? If a man and a woman are truly in love, not even the gods can take them out of this zone, because that’s the only moment they can share their best moments in life.

Love teaches us some of the most important lessons we would never learn by our self, missing out someone to share your feelings could be the hurting moments in our life, even more than a breakup because human beings were design to be together with that special someone, to love and be loved.
