Opposition politicians have vowed to disrupt Parliament proceedings on Tuesday to force suspended Ugunja MP James Wandayi (pictured) back to Parliament.

As a prelude to the siege in Parliament over Speaker Justin Muturi's refusal to allow Wandayi back to Parliament after the court ruling, which they termed disrespect to the rule of law, the legislators said it will not be business as usual.

This comes just a day after Wandayi threatened to sue Muturi for contempt of court.

Wandayi, through lawyer Anthony Aluoch, told High Court Judge Joseph Onguto that Muturi has declined to obey orders by High Court Judge George Odunga that suspended the decision barring him from attending Parliament sessions till the end of remaining part of the current session.

Speaking during a fundraiser for Restoration Development Programme group in Bondot, nominated MP Oburu Oginga said the Speaker himself is a beneficiary of court ruling and he should respect the same rule of law.

"We are going to interfere with Parliament proceedings next week if Wandayi is not allowed back to Parliament," said Homa Bay MP Opondo Kaluma.
